Welcome to Corn Belt Energy!
As a not-for-profit cooperative, Corn Belt Energy is owned and governed by over 34,000 households and businesses who use our services. The largest energy cooperative in Illinois, we adhere to four key principles: accountability, integrity, innovation and commitment to community. Founded in 1938 to electrify rural areas, we now serve eighteen Central Illinois counties and maintain over 5,000 miles of power lines.
Unless you’ve received electric service from a cooperative before, you may not know why you become a member of Corn Belt Energy. Unlike investor-owned electric companies, we’re a not-for-profit organization owned by the people who use our service.
Belonging to a member-owned cooperative may be a new experience for you; it’s a way of doing business based on service, not profit. Serving our members will always be our primary goal. You can count on Corn Belt as your local energy resource!
To initiate new electric service with Corn Belt, please call us at 1-800-879-0339. We'll gather your contact information and then send you a membership application for you to sign and return to us (samples are below). Each member household receives an information packet in the mail within 2 weeks of joining Corn Belt that further explains available programs and services.
